With Mikaele Ravalawa and Jason Saab both available, Pereira is one of five players in the running for two wing spots.
Zac Lomax will likely fill one of those slots if Matt Dufty is picked at fullback.
As someone who has had to fight for every opportunity in the NRL, 27-year-old Pereira said he's prepared to maintain his grip on the no.2 jumper he wore in the opening two rounds.
"There's always been competition at this club ever since I started here," Pereira said.
"So it's been nothing new, we've got some really talented players across the board.
"It's always strong the competition, but it brings out the best in each of us.
"It's the NRL, you can never really expect your jersey to be given to you, you've got to earn it every single week.
"That's what I was trying to do in the mini-break, so hopefully I've done enough."
