The newly promoted Bellambi will host Port Kembla at Elizabeth Park to kick off their 2020 Illawarra Premier League campaign.
It's been a lead-up for Port Kembla after Steven Dimitrievski resigned as head coach on Tuesday night.
As a result, Paine isn't sure what to expect from their opponents.
"It tends to make it [unpredictable] if you are a betting man. World football tends to show that any time a new coach comes in, you get a bounce back. Whether they have a new coach by Saturday, I don't know, but it will probably make the game unpredictable in terms of player motivation on their part," the coach said.
"I guess it's part and parcel of the game these days, isn't it? It's a bit strange in the fact that I know Steve and expected to say g'day to him. For us, it's pretty much as we were. We haven't played Port or seen them this year anyway. We really weren't expecting anything in particular."
After being crowned District League champions in 2019, Paine said Bellambi were excited to be back in the IPL - especially following the shutdown period.
"We've had seven months at training and the guys need some reward for what they've been doing. I'm just stoked that everyone is getting a chance to get out there and play a game," he said.
"We take nothing for granted. Port are traditionally a powerhouse in their league so we'll get ourselves up as best as we can and see at the end of game where we're at."
