The Lions have proven leaky at the back - only Port Kembla (17) have conceded more goals - and it remains an area of concern for coach Stuart Beedie. However, the task doesn't get any easier as they prepare to face the league's most potent team in attack, the undefeated Bulli at Crehan Park on Saturday.
"I've been quite impressed with Bulli. They've got big [Ben] McDonald up front, he leads them really well. And they play within their restraints. It's going to be another tough game for us, we're just treading a bit of water at the moment. We're struggling to find some real consistency and we're copping too many goals," Beedie said.
"We've tried a couple of defensive formations and it worked well against Tarrawanna in the Bampton Cup [Cringila won 4-1]. But we've got into the more slightly competitive games, it hasn't worked as well. There were three from Woonona, three against Albion Park, four on Sunday [against Olympic] and we were 2-all with Coniston. I won't single anyone out. It's a team game, but we've got to be better collectively as a defensive unit."
In Saturday's other Premier League games, Wollongong United will face Port Kembla at Macedonia Park, Coniston meets Corrimal at JJ Kelly Park and the Albion Park White Eagles will host Tarrawanna at Terry Reserve.
Bellambi will tackle South Coast United at Elizabeth Park and Olympic meets Woonona at PCYC on Sunday to complete round six.
