Last week's thrashing of Northern Districts was good. But Kiama have stamped their authority on this year's Men's Premier Division after defeating the previously unbeaten Figtree on Saturday.

In popular clubman Josh Walton's 200^th game, the Power rose to the occasion against the title favourites at Figtree Oval.

Both teams could only muster a goal in the first quarter, before Kiama pushed ahead to lead by nine points at half time. The visitors outscored Figtree in the third quarter by three goals to two, before surging home in the fourth to claim a 10.4 (64) to 5.12 (42) win.

After the game, Power coach Rod Richards praised his players for showing great intensity around the ground.

"We were more focusing on three or fours weeks time than today, but I'm happy to get it. That's for sure," he said.

"I still reckon we're a chance of winning the flag and here we are, we're back in the hunt. We went about our business and did our work. And we ended up kicking pretty straight which was good.

"We had an intention of going in pretty physical. They're a very classy side, so we were composed when we had the footy and ferocious when we didn't have it. We were very good."
