Magistrate Mark Douglass said Christopher Sheedy's successful completion of the court-ordered MERIT program would likely have an impact on what sentence he ultimately received for his crimes, noting the 34-year-old was on the cusp of going to jail.
"These are a serious set of facts," Magistrate Douglass said of the agreed facts before the court.
"The issue will be whether he receives a [community-based] intensive corrections order or full-time custody."
The court heard Sheedy and the woman were an item for two-and-a-half years before splitting up in February 2019 but remaining in contact.
Police had to intervene following a domestic incident between them in July, resulting in an order prohibiting Sheedy from going within 50m of her house.
The following day, she arrived home from a day out to discover bleach had been squirted over her two brown leather lounges, in her bed and throughout her closest and underwear drawer, ruining all her clothes.
There was also birthday cake smeared on the sheets and pillows and her mobile phone was missing, she said.
Meanwhile, Sheedy arrived at the house a short time later with the woman's mobile phone., which he gave back to her, then left.
He later sent her intimate images of herself and told her "I will send them around if you keep going".
He was arrested the following day and charged with two counts of property damage and one count each of contravening an apprehended violence order and threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent.
The case was adjourned to October 30 for sentencing and Sheedy's bail was continued.
