At the last council meeting, councillors voted to introduce "dynamic pricing" at the the Shellharbour Beachside Holiday Park.
It would see prices increase once the park reached a 60 per cent occupancy rate.
The decision attracted some criticism on the Grey Nomads website, with readers voicing their disapproval.
"We live in WA and travel to Wollongong at least once or twice a year to visit family," one reader said.
"Staying at Shellharbour is great being on the water. We support the local businesses and club. Not any more."
"Bye bye Shellharbour," another said, "one less park that will be getting my money."
Another reader branded it an "ugly cash grab", complaining that the policy was not inclusive of all income brackets.
One person left the comment that price of bread, milk and ice creams didn't go up by 15 per cent when they got "a little bit busy".
