Tamika Burgess, 19, was charged with affray and was scheduled to attend Wollongong Local Court.
When she failed to turn up, Magistrate Robert Walker dealt with the single charge of affray by convicting her, before ordering her to pay a $500 fine.
Police documents tendered to court allege Burgess, who lives in Bellambi, was sitting down at a bus stop on Keira Street, Wollongong on October 14 last year about 5.20pm.
A 21-year-old woman, Kyia Douglas, and a man were walking along the street when Burgess allegedly said, "wanna have a go" to the pair.
Burgess then stood up and both women put down their bags before allegedly shaping up towards each other.
Police allege Burgess walked towards Douglas who back peddled.
The women then allegedly start brawling where they pulled each other's hair and threw a number of punches.
The melee continued, with Burgess allegedly swinging "countless punches at Douglas" before knocking her to the ground.
Douglas stood back up and allegedly continued throwing punches at Burgess.
The man attempted to stand in the middle to try to prevent the assault but Douglas allegedly continued physically assaulting Burgess.
The man then got hold of Douglas and walked her away.
Douglas broke free and ran at Burgess, before allegedly grabbing Burgess' hair and continued to punch her.
A witness attempted to stop the assault as Douglas allegedly kicked and punched Burgess in the head while she was on the ground.
Douglas allegedly threw Burgess' bag onto the road before she walked off with the man.
The police document said the brawl was captured on CCTV footage and happened near where other people were waiting for the bus.
"The incident was violent and caused the public to fear for their safety where they have contacted Triple 0," the documents said.
Officers found Douglas before she was taken to the police station.
Douglas allegedly made admissions about being involved in the incident and "appeared remorseful for her actions" before she named Burgess as the other female involved in the violent brawl.
Police later charged Burgess. Douglas was also charged with affray and was sentenced in Wollongong Local Court to a 12-month community corrections order in January.
