The Lederer Group has submitted a development application to Wollongong City Council to undertake alterations at the Princes Highway site.
Under the proposal, a new 100 square metre shop would be built in part of the existing loading zone, and seven parking spaces would be relocated and a trolley bay would be removed to make way for a larger outdoor dining area.

The new shop and extended seating area would be constructed in the car park facing Railway Street.
If the plan goes ahead, the outdoor dining area would include a play area, new paving extending across the entrance to the centre, two raised planters, and bench seating.
It is understood the proposed new eatery has not been planned with a specific tenant in mind.
It would sit alongside existing tenants Subway and Kazem's Kitchen.
A report submitted as part of the application said the landscaping would "soften" the appearance of the shopping centre when viewed from Railway Street.
"The proposal is considered to align with the desired future character of the Corrimal town centre with its desired intent to 'open up' the existing shopping centre... The works will improve the amenity of the shopping centre, whilst adding more choices for consumers, increasing the overall vitality of the centre," the document said.
The report's authors said the development would not result in any "unreasonable" impacts on surrounding residential areas, and would contribute to the range of services available to the community.
The application will remain on exhibition on the council's website until April 23.
