Students for Palestine member Jessie Hunt said the event was now slated to be held on August 28.
"With all the uncertainty we thought we'd push it back a bit. Hopefully all things going well we can hold the event on August 28 as we are keen to highlight and support this very important issue," she said.
"We want the Illawarra to come together to raise funds and show support for Palestine after weeks and weeks of forced evictions, violence and military bombardment."
The fundraiser follows a rally in Wollongong on May 22 which saw hundreds of people come out in support of Palestine.
Speaker after speaker at the Wollongong rally demanded the Morrison government finally act against Israel for decades of "ethnic cleansing".
