Shellharbour City Council has adopted its operational plan for 2021-22 and delivery program for 2018-22, as well as 10-year financial and asset management plans.
This year's operational plan outlines capital works worth a total of $46.8 million.
Over the next financial year, $4.9 million will go towards the construction of the new Shell Cove library and community centre, another $3.8 million will be spent at Shellharbour Airport, where a new business park is in development, while almost $9 million will be put towards the new marina under construction in Shell Cove.
The council will undertake the renewal of facilities at Albion Oval in Albion Park Rail and Panorama Oval in Oak Flats, create an additional sporting field at Myimbarr Fields in Shellharbour, and put $1.3 million towards sporting fields at Shell Cove.
The renewal of the promenade at Reddall Reserve will receive $742,000, and $975,000 will be put into playgrounds and exercise equipment across the municipality.
Almost $6.3 million will be spent on roads and carparks, including $1.4 million on new projects.
Across the city, work on public toilets will be funded with $548,000, while the council will spend $370,000 on library books.
The operational plan identifies loan borrowings of almost $13.2 million for the Warilla seawall, the Shell Cove marina, and an upgrade of the council's Oak Flats depot.
This year, the council will increase rates by 2 per cent, the rate peg confirmed by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal.
"Council is committed to improving amenities, facilities and services, as well as upholding a strong fiscal responsibility to ensure the city's long-term sustainability," Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said.
