Financial support is available for grassroots, community projects providing a lifeline for Australians in regional centres.
During the last 22 years the IMB Bank Community Foundation has supported more than 750 community projects by donating over $10million to initiatives that help local communities.
Recently that has included projects that deliver disaster relief and renewal, community education, health and wellbeing support, sports and cultural development and aged care support.
Funding has helped CareSouth provide twice-yearly dental, optical and hearing checks for the Berkeley community, the Fairy Meadow and Port Kembla Surf Life Saving Clubs acquire more rescue equipment for the benefit of beachgoers, and students at Parra Meadows School and Sprouts Shellharbour Early Learning Centre for new experiences that help them develop life skills.
With applications closing on Thursday, IMB Bank Community Foundation is urging not-for-profits and community groups to apply at via the IMB website.
IMB Bank chief executive Robert Ryan said the bank is aware of how the charity sector has experienced a 48 per cent increase in demand for services as a result of COVID-19 global pandemic.
But the impact of the coronavirus on operations and fundraising have posed significant financial and resource burdens.
Mr Ryan said the IMB Bank Community Foundation remained committed to stepping up in support of regional groups and charities, to offer financial assistance for projects that strive to build strong, resilient, and forward-focused communities.
"Now more than ever community groups could use a helping hand. That's where we hope IMB Bank's Community Foundation can play a key role," he said.
"Since 1880, IMB Bank has been strongly invested in the communities in which we operate.
"We have enabled hundreds of local groups to access essential funds to advance and strengthen their communities.
"We encourage all not-for-profits to apply for funding this year by July 15."
