Top jockey Tommy Berry has apologised for his ride on the Robert and Luke Price-trained Jamaea which left Brenton Avdulla in hospital with a fractured vertebrae.

Berry will be aboard Group 3 San Domenico Stakes favourite, the Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
But it will be his last engagements until September 30, after copping a 17-meeting ban after pleading guilty to careless riding in the Group 2 Silver Shadow at Randwick.
Avdulla's ride Xtremetime was euthanised after the race, while Jamaea finished fourth after Berry forced his way clear back on the inside.
"Even out there on the track, I realised I'd made the wrong (decision) and tried to rectify the problem, but was unable to do so," Berry told SEN Track on Thursday.
"I copped my suspension, which was deserved in the circumstances.
"My thoughts were with Brenton the whole time, taken away in an ambulance and not knowing the extent of his injuries."
The ban will begin after Saturday's meeting and will include missing the George Main, Run To The Rose and Golden Rose.
Berry went on to win the Group 1 Winx Stakes on Mo'ounga and still has the opportunity to claim more black-type success at Kembla Grange, with Stay Inside resuming in the 1200m San Domenico, transferred from Rosehill due to the COVID outbreaks in western Sydney.
Stay Inside has had two trials since winning the Slipper in March and is a $2.40 favourite with Sportsbet, ahead of the Godolphin-trained Paulele ($3) and Hawkes colt Remarque ($5).
With the track in the Heavy range, Berry was wary of his rivals having the fitness of a first-up run already under the belts.
"He'll obviously handle (the track), but it's whether you want him to have a gut-busting run first-up," Berry said. "I know he's only drawn barrier six, but it's still a bit of an awkward alley.
"If he lines up on Saturday, we expect him to run really well, but the screws definitely aren't tightened right up yet and there's obviously horses like Remarque and Paulele that have had the benefit of the run.
"I'm not saying he can't win, but if he did win, it'd be a great effort first-up and we'd just be really happy to see him run well."
Boss has new Sydney incentive
Glen Boss will now ride at the Sydney carnival, after his bid to fly to Victoria to ride Melbourne Cup favourite Incentivise was scuppered by changing regulations, while in a Northern Territory quarantine centre.
His return may result in reuniting with Kerry Parker's Think It Over, after Brenton Avdulla was injured on Saturday.
"I have the utmost respect for our state and territory governments that manage the risks associated with border travel and the health and welfare of the communities that reside within those is paramount," Boss wrote in a statement released on Thursday.
"I am eagerly looking forward to my return to Sydney where I am focused and determined for success ahead of what promises to be a wonderful spring carnival."
