A UOW spokesperson said the university was also currently in negotiations with interested parties for the sale of International House and Marketview, which were offered for sale earlier this year.
International House and Weerona College have not operated as student residences since late last year when COVID-19 travel restrictions prevented the return of international students, forcing their closure.
As a result there were no students living in these buildings to be directly impacted by their sale.
Marketview, which operated with a lower occupancy rate during 2021 compared to previous years, will close only after all tenancy contracts expire in January 2022.
UOW will support students to find accommodation in 2022 or transfer to alternate UOW digs this year should any residents want to.
UOW will also make all efforts to accommodate those residents in a similar room/unit type to their current accommodation if possible.
