Police will investigate a car fire that forced the closure of a busy Corrimal street on Monday afternoon.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters found the car well alight when they attended the scene on Railway Street, just off Memorial Drive, shortly after 2.15pm.
Railway Street was closed in both directions while firefighters extinguished the blaze, but has since reopened.
Motorists are still advised to exercise caution in the area.
The cause of the fire is not known and the incident has been handed over to police for investigation.
Paramedics were not called to the fire.
