Wollongong tech business Easy Agile has been ranked among Australia's fastest growing companies.
This week The Australian Financial Review released its Fast 100 list for 2020-21 and ranked Easy Agile at 74.
The Regent Street based enterprise creates apps for customers of multi-billion dollar Australian software company Atlassian.
To be eligible for entry into the Fast 100, a business needs to have started trading on or before 1 July 2016, and have had turnover greater than $500,000 in 2016-17.
Easy Agile was started by two Atlassian alumni in 2015.
Since then it has continued to experience rapid growth, even during the coronavirus pandemic.
Easy Agile co-founder Dave Elkan said that the company has employed 14 new staff since the arrival of COVID-19 in 2020.
It has also grown it's customer base by more than 20 per cent.
Mr Elkan said Easy Agile's products are sold around the globe to brands such as Netflix, Boeing and Amazon.
"We have seen an "incredible rate of adoption" since the move for many businesses to remote and hybrid work formats," he said.
"It is incredible to be included on the AFR Fast 100 list and to be a part of the Illawarra's growing tech scene. We're actively recruiting software developers from within NSW with an eye to expanding the depth and adoption of our products even further."
Co-founder Nick Muldoon said November had been a great month of recognition for the business which took out the Excellence in Import & Export Award at the recent IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards.
In the citation the judges spoke of how the business exports software to more than 50 countries and its apps are used by more than 150,000 people and 2000 companies every month.
They also noted how the business promotes its home town of Wollongong across all its platforms and acts as an ambassador for the city and region.
During the award presentation Mr Muldoon said he was so excited about the award and said Easy Agile's success was credit to the whole team. Many of whom worked outside normal hours because of the different timezone in Australia.
"We are a software company with 28 people here in the Illawarra and 99 per cent of our income comes from outside of Australia," he said.
"Our biggest markets are western Europe and North America. We are thrilled we can actually service a global customer base of thousands of clients including 140 of the Forbes Global 2000 from here in the Illawarra.
"When we moved from San Francisco back to Australia, we decided to launch a start up in Wollongong because of the lifestyle. What we never imagined is how many international companies we can serve from Wollongong and how we can continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
"I would also like to give a big shoutout to the community here in the Illawarra. You have been so supportive of us over the last six years. And we really appreciate that."
