Bureau of Meteorology data shows the weather station there recorded 352 millimetres of rain in the week to Monday, well above the 81.2 millimetres it might record in a typical April.
With 1648 millimetres having already fallen so far this year, Darkes Forest has seen about 21 per cent more rain already than it would see in an entire average year.
It was followed in second place by Robertson, where the pie shop had 311 millimetres.
Twelfth on the list was Bellambi with 196 millimetres.
Meanwhile, Albion Park received a little over 155 millimetres during the week and Kiama had 129 millimetres.
Albion Park has had its wettest year in over two decades already, despite being less than a third of the way through 2022.
The weather station at the airport has had 1318.4 millimetres since January 1, compared to the 1266.6 millimetres it received in 2020.
After a couple of days' respite from the rain, showers are expected to return.
Wollongong is forecast to receive three to eight millimetres on Wednesday, while Albion Park and Kiama are likely to get up to six millimetres.
But the sunshine should be back towards the end of the week, with Friday expected to bring clear skies to the region.
