The 30-year-old man was wanted for questioning over two incidents where he allegedly reversed into police cars to avoid arrest.
About 11pm on January 11, highway patrol officers allegedly attempted to stop the man’s white Toyota LandCruiser on the Princes Highway near Foxground.
It is alleged the four-wheel drive stopped before it reversed into the police car, forcing two officers to jump out of the way.
The car then drove off, police claim.
Days later, police attempted to arrest the man in Nowra when he allegedly ran from officers and fled in a stolen Ford Ranger ute.
Officers started to pursue the vehicle when it allegedly reversed into the police car, causing minor damage.
The pursuit was later terminated and the man managed to escape.
Yesterday afternoon, police allegedly saw the man driving through Nowra.
Officers started following the vehicle when it allegedly reversed into the police car, causing significant damage.
The man was again able to evade officers after he allegedly crashed the car north of Browns Road and fled into nearby bushland.
He was arrested last night in Nowra and charged with three counts of armed robbery, two counts of not stopping after a police pursuit and resisting and assaulting police.
Police will allege the armed robberies were committed in the Shoalhaven, Lake Illawarra and Far South Coast Local Area Commands.
Officers also executed four arrest warrants for property offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court today.
