The score hardly reflected the high standard of bowls played and congratulations are due to all competitors. It was the second year running that A. Rogers appeared in the winners' circle.
The ladies' long-awaited return from the summer break was interrupted rather rudely by rain on Tuesday, so Thursday became their only day of social competition. Numbers demanded games of fours and eventual winners were P. Bodey, J. Clowes, M. Partridge and G. O'Donnell.
The men were braver and battled through infrequent showers to record some interesting results in the regular Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday competitions, with results as follows:
Wednesday winners - G. Dungey, W. Stimson and K. Condon; runners-up K. Thomas, P. McBeath and D. Coughlan.
Thursday winners - A.Tarbert, T. Rossiter and N. Tylee with runners-up W. Read, W. Partridge and D. Gorham. A small consolation for the losing finalists in the earlier Fours Championship.
Saturday winners were R. Dylan, G. Clowes and A. Van Zanen. Runners-up on this occasion were J. Holland, R. Logan and R. Hambly.
