On Wednesday the Mercury reported on the sale of the Green’s business to Premier Illawarra, making it the biggest private bus company in the Illawarra.
On Wednesday, a Transport for NSW spokeswoman said it had recently approved the transfer of a contract held by Green’s for northern Wollongong bus services to Premier Illawarra, which already holds the contract to run services in the southern suburbs.
‘‘Premier Illawarra will run the North Wollongong services under the name Premier Charters,’’ the spokeswoman said.
‘‘Customers can be assured the current timetable and bus routes will remain the same.’’
The two routes Premier Charters will operate are between Wollongong and Stanwell Park, and between Helensburgh and Stanwell Tops.
The Green’s family-run company started in 1973 and had grown to boast a fleet of 19 buses and coaches.
