She said with her daughter Chloe Perrow just starting high school it was a good time to re-enter the world of finance while running her own business.
But she only made the final decision after being approached by BOQ Wollongong owner Raj Lingam.
I will still be doing my own health and fitness business [Simple Fitness and Coaching]," she said.
"Five years ago I started Simple Fitness but before that I spent nine years in finance and superannuation [at Pillar Administration and State Super Financial Services]. The last five years have been super cool but now I have my classes in the morning and I do my coaching and workshops on weekends."
Ms Perrow said she and the BOQ staff in the region were excited she would be getting out and spreading the word about the bank's presence.
"I will be doing what I do already networking wise," she said.
"I am now applying that to the bank. This is about customer relationships and BOQ fits in perfectly with my values ... What they do with the customers here is really amazing. They even send them Christmas and birthday cards.
"It is all about creating an awesome customer relationship which they have already done," Ms Perrow said.
Mr Lingam, who had worked in Sydney before moving to the Illawarra, his wife's home region, said he approached Ms Perrow because he was looking for a long term-local person in the role.
"She knows local businesses and has a connection within the business network and I just thought it was good to have someone to complement myself and what I do," he said.
