The exhibition will include a variety of works including wood carvings and pyrography created by the members, as well as demonstrations.
The art form has ancient origins and convener of the woodworking group, Frank O'Connor, said it could be found all through Europe and Britain.
"Woodcarving in Austria and Switzerland is the main activity among woodworkers," he said.
"We will have a complete range of works from relief woodcarving [carving from within timber] and 3D carving.
"It could be animals, figures and faces ... it will be a whole range. We will also have a beautiful three-metre screen of pyrography on display with Japanese figures."
Also on display will be a chess set which was carved by members.
It will be for sale with all the proceeds donated to the Sydney Children's Hospital.
The free exhibition runs from August 25 to 31 between 9.30am to 4pm.
Shellharbour Woodcarvers are at Wilga Close, Albion Park Rail, and meet on the first Monday and third Saturday of each month.
