Davidson’s 216th NBL match saw him move to fifth overall in Hawks’ history, behind only Glen Saville, Mat Campbell, Melvin Thomas and Chuck Harmison.
He marked the occasion with his strongest performance of 2015-16. The veteran centre had nine points and nine rebounds in Illawarra’s 108-70 victory over the Townsville Crocodiles.
It delighted coach Rob Beveridge.
“It is one of those things where he brings so much stuff that you don’t really stat with screening and blocking out. Doing those little things,” he said.
“He has sort of gone under the radar and he is starting to find his way as well with what we are doing with our team.
“I couldn’t be happier, particularly with 216 games at the club.
“It is tremendous and that is what we are so happy about.
“He is coming up to 300 games now and anyone who plays that many games in the league deserves the respect.”
Davidson also added four assists and was perfect from the field and the free throw line in the win.
