CityServe is an initiative of the Christian Churches of Shellharbour City.
It is a collaboration of the churches, Shellharbour City Council, businesses and the community, with volunteers working to beautify public spaces and other areas.
The next CityServe event is on Saturday, August 13 at Warilla Pool from 8am-3pm.
Tasks on the day will include installing mulch and plants for a garden bed and painting various areas.
Shellharbour Community Church Pastor Shane Cook said all community members could volunteer to help.
“We identified with council that potentially this was an area that needs a bit of love,” he said.
“If anyone wants to volunteer on the day, all they need to do is turn up, and make sure they’ve got a hat and a pair of enclosed shoes.”
Another recent project was at Ron Costello Oval, with about 115 volunteers in attendance. “We wanted to be an active and proactive force for good in the community,” Pastor Cook said.
