As a fifth generation farmer, Mr Osborne knew he would work with dairy cows from a young age.
“This is what I like doing,” he said.
“I’ve always known I wanted to be a dairy farmer. I’ve been here for 16 years.”
Throughout that time, Mr Osborne has raised a number of award-winning cattle.
“I went to Melbourne in 2013, and I took out Junior Champion with one of the Brown Swiss at the [Australian International Dairy Week],” he said.
“I didn’t expect it. I only go to one show a year, and I’ve never come away without a ribbon.”
This year Mr Osborne received a number of prizes, including an eighth place prize for his young Brown Swiss.
“Last year I got two fourth places and a fifth,” he said.
“The fifth place-getter received a second this year.
“It’s nice to win – especially when they’re up to 1000 head of cattle for the international competition.”
