The second course will be held on Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29, from 9am to 5pm at the Kiama Pavilion.
There is no cost for Kiama residents to attend these certified courses but the purchase of a $35 course manual is required for completion. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of the course.
A fee may be charged for representatives from organisations or those who receive government funding for mental health first aid training.
This is an excellent opportunity for the public and professionals to gain a better understanding of how to help and comfort persons suffering a mental illness. Please contact Rotarian Helen Stirling at 0438 093 178 or email helenstirling@bigpond.com for more information or to make a booking. These certified courses are made possible through the generous support of the local community at our various fundraising events and donations from the IMB Community Foundation.
KIAMA LIONS
Our last meeting was a Partners night at the Surf Club. It was a beautiful balmy evening, absolutely suited to conviviality. Watching the sun go down with a glass of something nice in the hand, we all had a great time and finished it off with fish and chips.
At this meeting, Janelle from Rose Valley Florists presented us with a very generous donation for our Respite Centre. Thank you, Janelle, we are very grateful.
Preparations are going full speed for our Galloping Hooves and Racing Hearts Day art Kembla Grange on April 1 – Doncaster day. There are still some tables left so if you would like an exciting afternoon in a VIP enclosure, please ring Clive on 0409 047 981 or Ian on 0417 692 289.
We will be putting a team together for the Clean-up Australia day and collection teams for Red Cross Calling. We have also accepted the invitation to join Shellharbour Lions in their fund-raiser at the Wings over the Illawarra Air Show.
