In October the 21-year-old will share this passion at the third Youth Ag-Summit in Belgium.
The Bluescope electrical cadet and University of Wollongong electrical engineering student is one of only three Australians chosen to participate.
All up only 100 delegates from 1200 applicants got a gig to talk about ‘Feeding a Hungry Planet’, at the summit which aims to address the UN Sustainability Goals of ending hunger, achieving food security and promoting sustainable agriculture.
Hailing from 49 countries and aged between 18 and 25, the chosen delegates share a passion for agriculture and a vision of a world without hunger.
Miss Goh said she felt incredibly honoured to represent Australia at the summit and have the opportunity to influence change on such an important global issue.
‘’I’m looking forward to hearing all the different perspectives on sustainable food solutions, bringing back the learnings and applying the knowledge here in Australia,’’ she said.
Miss Goh is currently on exchange at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, under the Australian government’s New Colombo Plan.
‘’Bayer’s Youth Ag-Summit will be an invaluable opportunity to delve deeper into the imperative world issue of food security, coming together to form collaborations and connections with like-minded youth in a joint vision that brings together global perspectives and diverse solutions,’’ she said.
‘’Through my studies of electrical engineering I want to influence a clean, sustainable future.
‘’I think there’s a lot of potential in automation within food and agriculture, from the growing, harvesting stages to putting a meal on the table.’’
Future Farmers Network Australia (FFN) chair Dan Korff was ‘’thrilled’’ organisations like Bayer provide young Australian thought leaders like Yang-Ming the opportunity to have their voice heard. The summit runs October 9-13.
