Estia Health Figtree hosted their first ‘family fun day’ last Thursday.
Organisers estimated that more than 240 people attended on the day, and are now seeking to make it an annual event.
The day’s activities included face-painting, live music, a petting zoo, pony rides, jumping castle, dancers, a barbecue and raffles.
While the purpose of the day was to open their doors to the community and raise the Figtree site’s profile in the community, organisers also wanted to give back to the community.
Organisers Janet Dunn, Linda Winters and Roslyne Hinkley said the Homeless Hub was a worthwhile charity to support.
Mrs Dunn from Estia has been working with the Homeless Hub to provide support for elderly homeless people.
