The Illawarra Innovative Industry Network (i3net) is preparing to promote the region’s many capabilities on August 24 and 25 when the annual Illawarra Industry Showcase is held at the Western Grandstand on August 24 and 25. Executive officer Tony Green said local firms will be pitching their skill and expertise to state, national and international delegates at a breakfast, dinner and expo.
It follows the release of the latest Australian Industry Group Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index (Australian PMI) on Tuesday which rose by 1.0 point to 56.0 in July. That was the 10th consecutive month of expansion for the manufacturing sector and the growth was broadly-based, according to Ai Group chief executive Innes Willox. “Production, sales, exports and employment all grew during the month, in part thanks to the strength of other key sectors including construction and agriculture, and the recovery of spending in the mining sector”.
