Luke Tanti, 28, and friend Marcus Bardebski, 28, went to great lengths this year to celebrate Halloween.
Wollongong’s Mr Tanti elaborately decorated the shed at a relative’s property at Unanderra and hosted a party there on Saturday night.
“I’ve just always been into fantasy and horror movies, and I was sort of inspired by my horror icons like Chucky, Annabelle, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger,” he said of the party.
“I just like the creativity of all of it. I like the transformations, I love people dressing up. I host throughout the whole night; have fun activities and prizes.”
Mr Tanti said his younger cousins inspired him as well.

“They like to go trick-or-treating, but my aunties and uncles didn’t like them going out and knocking on strangers’ doors,” he said.
“So I thought, ‘how about I put together something for them that will be safe and enjoyable… So they can still dress up and have fun?’
“There was a little bit for the adults and the children.”
Mr Tanti said more low-key celebrations were planned for Halloween night itself on Tuesday.
“I’ll be doing movie nights, drinks and nibbles with close friends. I think Halloween is getting more popular in Australia… I do see it growing, see more of it celebrated than I did in my childhood.”
