Visitors will get the opportunity to see a wide range of quilts and wall hangings made by local, as well as Shoalhaven and Illawarra quilters.
“People can expect to see a beautiful display of quilts and wall hangings,” secretary of the CMRI Gerringong committee Lorraine Peade said.
“They can also buy some beautiful Christmas gifts from the CMRI craft stall, all of which have been made by our members who meet every Monday.
“There are unique things including Christmas decorations and presents, the cake stall is always ver popular with lots and lots of fabulous homemade cakes and biscuits, the Christmas cakes and puddings are always a huge winner, so if people want to take advantage of that, they need to get here early on Saturday.
“The bonus this year is the lucky door prize, you can get a ticket on your way through after paying your $5 entry.”
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) Gerringong Committee and all money raised will support research into childhood illness, particularly cancer.
CMRI scientists of the Gene Therapy Research Unit, a joint venture with the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, are developing novel, gene-based strategies for the treatment of childhood diseases.
They are also conducting a gene therapy clinical trial to enhance chemotherapy treatments for paediatric brain tumours.
Get along to enjoy the exhibition and support a great cause. There will be morning and afternoon tea as well as light lunch available.
