Wiseman Park’s oldest bowler Eddie Vormister was presented with a special Golden Bowl to celebrate his 100th birthday earlier this month.

A foundation member of Wiseman Park in 1983, Vormister took up bowls a few years earlier when he joined the-then Wollongong City Bowling Club.
‘’I’ve been playing for 38 years,’’ Eddie confirmed.
‘’When Wollongong City folded and it became the present club Wiseman Park (Wollongong City) I became a member and have played here ever since.’’
Eddie and his mates play in a Wednesday Golden Oldies social comp and the group surprised their popular member with a special Golden Bowl to mark his 100 th birthday.
‘I’ve always enjoyed the social side of bowls and getting out and playing each week keeps me active,’’ Eddie said.
Showing bowls is for all ages and abilities, Wiseman Park have 130 bowling members and pride themselves on providing a wide range of events.
