A Progressive Dinner for members and their families saw 40 senior members of the Gerringong community wandering the streets, from house to house, last Saturday night enjoying fine food and fellowship.
Steve Pottie has been leading the Gerringong team at the Kiama Lions’ Carer’s Cottage project, in Shoalhaven Street.
The house received its final coat of paint on the exterior last weekend and the electrics and plumbing are progressing well. This is an outstanding Lions project and Gerringong is very happy to be involved.
Elections were held on Thursday night for the new board for 2018/19, they will take over in July.
Congratulations to president elect Bob Mark on his appointment. Bob is a long-term member of the Club and is looking forward to his term in office.
Gerringong welcomed a new member on Thursday night. Sponsored by Foundation Member, Bob Stafford, Mike Green has come to town from Gundagai.
Mike already had his first baptism of fire at the Lions BBQ, serving many hundreds of sausages at The Gerringong Public School Fete on Saturday.
What a great committee the school has, to be able to put together such a fantastic event. The Lions were very pleased to be able to assist in raising much needed funds for our Public School – we live in a very generous community.
One of Gerringong’s next projects will be the development of The Arthur Campbell Reserve, on Fern Street, next to the Uniting Church. The Lions will be involved in providing manpower and landscaping.
