The next monthly meeting for Kiama CWA Day Branch is Tuesday, June 19 at the CWA hall, 70 Shoalhaven Street, Kiama starting starting at 1pm.
Visitors and new members are most welcome to all our meetings.
At our last meeting we had a presentation given by the 3 boys who undertook the Outward Bound Course sponsored by the Club. They gave a very interesting view of events and were very grateful for the opportunity. For the Lions it was a very good way of demonstrating how their money has been spent.
KIAMA LIONS CLUB
Lions were out in force collecting money for the annual nation-wide Red Shield Appeal on May 26-27.
We raised over $3600 for the Salvation Army.
Our Lions District consists of more than 40 clubs. All of these have contributed to a Lions fund set up to assist the folks of Tathra affected by the bushfires. In total, the district has already donated over $162,000.
Next weekend will see the Driver Reviver teams in operation for the June long weekend
Please note that in our last bulletin we advised the changeover dinner would be held on Thursday, June 28. It has now been postponed until Thursday, July 12.
Work on the Carers Cottage this week will feature fitting architraves around doors and windows and installation of the Solar Power Hot water system.
KIAMA MEN’S SHED
Kiama Men’s Shed has received a funding boost.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward presented $2138 funding to representatives at the Men’s Shed to upgrade their facilities last week.
The funding will allow the Men’s Shed to purchase new machinery and equipment, which will give the members an opportunity to upskill their work level, and to do more high quality work in support of the community. It will also assist with their charitable toy manufacturing.
The Kiama Men’s Shed is located at the Uniting Church Rectory on the corner of Manning and Bong Bong Streets, Kiama.
Access Times are on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9am-3pm.
