The unidentified winner joked she’ll be heading straight to her “favourite store” Kmart to spend the windfall.
The woman won Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot’s first prize of $200,000 in draw 1085, which was drawn on March 22.
However, she just didn’t know she had won until this week, and received a huge surprise when she checked an “old” Lucky Lotteries ticket she had in a drawer at home.
“I can’t believe it; honestly, I can’t.
“I was at the shops to buy something for dinner and thought I’d finally better check the ticket that’s been sitting in my drawer at home.
“I thought I might have won $20 or something, but nothing like this.”
After joking that she would be headed to her “favourite store” Kmart to spend her winnings, the winner said she would give some money to her children and grandchildren.
“They’re all great kids,” she said.
“They’re good to me and they deserve to be treated to something special.”
The winning entry of one random number was purchased at X-tra Warrawong at Warrawong Plaza.
This is the second time in two years that X-tra Warrawong has sold a first prize-winning Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot entry.
As the woman’s winning entry was not registered to a Players Club Card, NSW Lotteries officials had no way of contacting the ticket-holder.
X-tra Warrawong manager Lisa Vigorito said the outlet was pleased the winner has been united with their prize.
“It may have taken two months, but we finally have a winner,” she said.
“We’re so excited for our customer – possibly more excited than she is. I think she might still be in a bit of shock.”
