City Beach Function Centre was the venue for the latest Illawarra Assistants Network event with support from CMG Audio Visual.
The networking group started by executive assistants at Peoplecare is attracting a growing number of PA’s from a wider range of businesses.
The regular meetings are designed to be a night of personal development and networking.
And each event has a different feel with a different subject and format.
Generally they are informal events and the host venue gets a chance to talk about what it is doing in the networking, function and corporate market.
At City Beach Function Centre last weel Walk Different managing director Maz Miller talked about mental health in the workplace, managing workplace stress and initiatives that can be implemented.
Ms Miller asked “what causes stress at work?”
The answer is it can be caused by a range of things including a lack of role clarity, poor communication, conflict with colleagues and managers, bullying, low levels of recognition and reward, work that is emotionally disturbing or requires a high emotional involvement, poorly managed change, lack or organisational justice, and discrimination whether based on gender, ehtnicity, race or sexuality.
Jim Eddy then spoke of the ongoing improvements to City Beach Function Centre and Steamers and the new relationship with CMG Audio Visual.
The next Illawarra Assistants networking event is on July 17.
