A Berkeley man wanted by Strike Force Raptor police will face court on Thursday after he was arrested by officers in the state’s northeast.

The 22-year-old was wanted on two arrest warrants in relation to firearms and drug offences.
Extensive police inquiries and searches failed to locate the man – until Wednesday, when detectives from the Tweed/Byron Police District received information he may have been in the Byron Bay area.
Following further inquiries, police located the man walking through a park on Bay Street, Byron Bay, about 11.30am.
As the officers approached, the man attempted to flee the scene.
He was pursued by police on foot and arrested following a short struggle.
A male senior constable was injured during the arrest and taken to hospital for treatment to a knee injury.
A search of the man located a large knife.
He was taken to Byron Bay police station and charged with the outstanding warrants, as well as being in custody of knife in public place, resisting arrest and breaching bail.
He was refused bail to appear in Byron Bay Local Court.
