A man has sustained a number of injuries after falling about four metres through a roof in the backyard of a home in Thirroul.

Three NSW Ambulance units responded to the incident at a Corbett Avenue address just after 3pm on Thursday following reports a man had fallen through a fibreglass roof onto a paved area.
NSW Ambulance Illawarra duty operations manager Inspector Norm Rees said paramedics treated a 59-year-old man at the scene for a number of injuries.
“It looks like he was replacing the ridge-capping on the roof and he’s gone through and fallen approximately four metres,” Insp Rees said.
The man suffered a suspected broken left leg, as well as fractures to his left femur, pelvis and left wrist, He was also treated for facial injuries.
The man was stablised at the scene and taken to Wollongong Hospital for further treatment.
He is expected to remain in hospital for a number of days.
