Lauren Kayle could not be prouder of Chloe Ephron, 17, who was impressed when she was approached on social media about the global phenomenon that has gone viral in the US and the UK. Contact with the company resulted in her wanting to bring it to Australia.
Parental consent is needed for students 16 and 17 years of age to be involved in the US founded business. And Mrs Kayle is encouraging her daughter all the way.
“We launched the NU Hustle together and then we co-founded the NU Student Hustle with two business partners in Sydney”.
A time when many young people have enormous social media networks the NU Student Hustle concept is about rewarding them for the behaviour they know and love. Students and millennials love sharing recommendations of products they like, or places they have been. In the past they have not been paid anything when people go and buy products based on their endorsement.
But with the NU Student Hustle they are rewarded with the payment of a sharing bonus.
Chloe Ephron knows a product has to be good for people to sharing recommendations about it on social media.
She has tried them and thinks they are and wanted to get in early in Australia. She particularly likes the plumping lip balm and the whitening toothpaste.
“They are affordable, they work, they do what they say they will do when a lot of products don’t. You see the results within days,” she said.

Ebony Austin is already considered an influencer. She has more than 31,000 followers on Instagram and sees the NU Student Hustle as an opportunity for teenagers to get some income doing what they love.
“I love how I can have this side hustle alongside my Dance Studio business to earn as much or as little as I want with no costly outlays,” she said.
Ms Austin said all she had to do was share recommendations about what she thinks are fabulous products and the online platform takes care of all the service, delivery and payments.
The company behind the platform was founded in America is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, turned over $2.28 billion last year in the 53 countries globally.
The Wollongong launch is at the Novotel on October 13 at 2:30pm, in Sydney at the Intercontinental Hotel in Double Bay on October 14 and The IBIS in Brisbane on October 21.
