It’s understood the man received stab wounds after a fight broke out on the street around 4am.

Part of Elliotts Road was cordoned off early on Tuesday. It has since reopened to traffic.

The injured man’s condition is unknown, though a police spokesman said he did present to Wollongong Hospital to be treated.

Wollongong police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the altercation to come forward.
