Ogilvy took no part in the second half of his side’s drubbing at the hands of the Wildcats, tweeting a picture of his badly swollen ankle in the aftermath.
That didn’t paint a pretty picture but, with a seven-day recovery period, Beveridge rates Ogilvy a 50-50 chance of playing against the Taipans.
“He got back late on Monday night and went straight in for treatment,” Beveridge said.
“I thought it was only minor and he’d be right but after the game it was really swollen and you could see bruising.
“Because it’s so black and blue and ugly it’s obviously a concern but he’s a real pro and he’ll do whatever he has to. He’s had his injuries in the past and he knows how to manage it.
“Talking to him, he’s confident he can train Friday and we’ll see how he goes. It obviously puts a lot more pressure on Dave [Andersen] and Conk [Brian Conklin].
“I love what those guys do but they can only play x amount of minutes and that obviously hurt us on the weekend.”
It comes at a frustrating time for Ogilvy who was outstanding in his side’s first game after an injury-hampered run through last season.
“He was definitely back,” Beveridge said.
“I was so pleased for him because he had a down season last year, but for him to come out and have 15 points, 21 rebounds and four blocks… it’s a pretty impressive stat-line.”
