Whitlam MP Stephen Jones said the iPads will be used by students at the school, as well as Oak Flats community organisations including the Senior Citizens Club, Kids Club and Ratha’s Place.
Mr Jones met with students on Friday to see how they have been using technology to learn the basics of coding.
“I was very impressed with how the students are using technology to pick up skills I believe will be very important in the future,” he said.
“I’m happy to be able to play a part in furthering this modern approach to education.
“This is another example of Labor’s commitment to education in the Illawarra.
“Under our commitment a school like Oak Flats Public will be $480,000 better off under a Shorten Labor Government.”
