The Bellambi sea wall will also be repaired after storms damaged it more than two years ago.
Wollongong City Council is expected to award a nearly $3 million tender to Dynamic Civic for the work at the council meeting on Monday.
The structural integrity of the pool, located at Bellambi Beach on Robert Cram Drive, will be repaired to extend the life of the popular swimming hole.
The integrity of the pool has been reduced from the harsh marine environment.
Council documents said the ocean pool walls, floor, ramp, viewing area and concourse would be repaired or renewed.
"Existing walls will be lined with new precast concrete panels anchored to the existing structure via rock bolts down into the rock shelf and the southeast pool wall will be demolished and a new wall constructed," the documents said.
"Repair work to floor of pool [will be carried out as will] renewal of pool access ramp, repairs to lower concourse, renewal of middle and upper concourse, repairs to surf viewing area and repairs to a section of the existing northwest seawall adjacent to viewing area."
The proposed works to the seawall and embankment north of the pool will help protect the dunes and foreshore in future storms.
"Construction of a new seawall including excavation to rock shelf for seawall footings, removal of contaminated fill, geofabric and rock armour installation, stormwater extension and reinstatement of the foreshore will be undertaken," the documents said.
The two projects have been combined into one tender to minimise impacts on the community during construction.
Four companies submitted tender applications to carry out the work.
The Austinmer rock pool repairs were finally completed in December last year after a four-year saga for Wollongong City Council.
The Wombarra ocean pool was also completed late last year.
