The Illawarra's top acrobatic gymnasts are on track to qualify for next year's World Championships, with five teams selected in the Australian National Squad.

The teams, from the Albion Park Oak Flats Kiama Acrobatic Gymnastics Club will now attempt to press their claims for selection over the next eight months.

The group is headlined by the senior trio of Maddison Lacey, Caitlin O'Neil and Mikayla Carr. They are joined by 13-19 trio Ella Treanor, Indigo Conroy and Naomi Gibson, 12-18 trio Mykenna Collier, Jessica Adams and Savannah Mayton, 11-16 trio Mikayla Gumm, Molly Jewiss and Indianna Surian and 11-16 pair Abbey Mushet and Latisha James.
Gunning for her first World Championships, Lacey said it was an honour to be named in the squad.
"It was really exciting," Lacey said. "We're one stop closer to representing Australia at the World Championships in Switzerland next year."
