Man charged over homemade gun

Wollongong police have charged a man allegedly found with a homemade gun.The man was riding his motorcycle on Rowland Ave, Wollongong, about 4.30pm yesterday when he was pulled over by police.He was then searched and officers allegedly found a black, 15cm pen gun on his person.The man was taken to Wollongong police station where he was later charged with possessing a prohibited firearm.He is due to appear in Wollongong Local Court on May 18.
