Simon Evans, of Caveau Restaurant, said for the first time three Wollongong venues received glasses.
"We retained our two glass rating for the second year and Babyface and The Throsby received one glass each for the first time which is great for Wollongong.
"It is a good time for wine drinkers in this area".
Mr Evans said winning a glass in the Wine List of the Year Awards is similar to winning a hat in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.

"The Wine List of the Year Awards are probably the most revered of the restaurant/wine bar awards in the industry. The judging panel is made up of some of the best sommerliers in Australia and the world".
Erick Zevallos said this was the first year The Throsby entered.
"Simon encouraged us to do it. We were absolutely chuffed to be awarded a glass. We want to try for two glasses next year".
Mr Zevallos said the achievement will be great for The Throsby.
"They have a website/app where you can type in a postcode and it tells you the venues that have Wine List of the Year glasses," he said.
The Throsby had to submit a current and past wine lists and Mr Zevallos believes the selection of Australia and international wines impressed Gourmet Traveller.
Andy Burns said it was also the first time Babyface had entered.
"We have worked on making the list a lot larger over the last 12 months.
"We put in a lot of work and have basically doubled the size of our list since the start of the year.
"It is nice to get some recognition because our wine list is pretty unconventional.
"We have supported a whole lot of small producers and really put our money where out mouth is for about three years now.
"I think we have really created some understanding in Wollongong now about our list and why we do what we do," Mr Burns said.
