Traffic on Lawrence Hargrave Drive - between Railway Crescent and Otford Road - was closed from about 2pm but reopened shortly before 6pm.
Motorists are advised to use the M1 Princes Motorway and Bulli Pass as an alternative route.
It's understood the 19-year-old truck driver lost control of the vehicle and had to be cut out of the wreckage by Rural Fire Service crews.
An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said the man was being treated for lacerations to his head and arm.
Paramedics stabilised the man at the scene before transporting him to an ambulance helicopter. He was taken to St George Hospital.
Roads and Maritime Service crews are cleaning up the scene.
