Their production of Aladdin is directed by Tania Giustiniani and Josif Jovanovski.
Jovanovski also adapted John Yates' story for the pantomime format, and stars as 'Widow Twankey', Aladdin's mother.
"We've rehearsed for the past ten weeks, had a few casting changes, but we're back on track and all ready for Friday," he said.
"We're all locals in the cast. There will be some familiar faces (from other Roo productions), as well as a lot of new faces."
Jovanovski has been associated with the Roo Theatre since 1996 and directing productions there since 2010.
He said the company aimed to present a pantomime each January to coincide with the school holidays.
"It's not Disney's Aladdin; it's the story of Aladdin for all ages," Jovanovski said of the show.
He said performing Aladdin in 2020 made sense, given the success of the recently released live action film adaptation starring Will Smith.
"We thought it might have an appeal to a new generation who have just seen that," Jovanovski said.
"Obviously the panto (format) changes the story, it's got quite a few twists in it.
"It's a Disney classic. Every little boy and girl have grown up on the Disney films... Aladdin definitely has that family favourite, timeless classic feel.
"It's got all the famous characters from Aladdin... It's got adult comedy that goes over the children's heads, but the children fall in love with the characters and story."
Aladdin will be performed at the Roo Theatre, Shellharbour from January 10-18.

A portion of all ticket sales to Aladdin will be donated to WIRES to help fire-affected wildlife.
