But you'll be seeing Angus Glover in Sydney Kings colours in the NBL next season.
A once almost unthinkable situation months ago, Glover signed a three-year deal with Kings announced on Monday afternoon, after becoming a free agent when the Hawks went into voluntary administration.
Glover has overcome three anterior-cruciate ligament knee injuries to make his name in the NBL with the Hawks, but his deal was void when the club collapsed.
The certainty offered from the Kings was a deal he could not refuse.
In a statement Glover said he was looking forward to working with new coach Will Weaver at the Kings, who had been involved in Boomers camp.
"I'm very excited to be part of the Kings organisation for the next three years" Glover said.
"Being able to spend time with Will while I was with the Boomers at the end of last season was a big factor in my decision to join the Club. The confidence he gives to players is massive, and even five or six days with him was a big jump forward for my development".
''My dream is to grow up and to play for the Hawks. It's been my dream since I was two," a 10-year-old Angus Glover told the Illawarra Mercury in 2009.
The Hawks begin to rebuild their own roster, with ex-Cleveland Cavaliers NBA forward Deng Adel poised to join Emmett Naar and former Kings and Breakers player Deng Deng on the roster.
Glover will team up with another former Illawarra junior Xavier Cooks, who was part of Sydney's march to the semi-final series last season when the Covid-19 crisis struck.
