Coniston led 3-1 after 77 minutes against Bellambi on Saturday. But, by the full-time whistle, the Rosellas had fought back to clinch an unlikely 4-3 victory.
When asked what happened in that game, Coniston coach Jeff Allport says "I still don't know". However, he won't have much time to ponder the loss as his Premier League side prepare to face Tarrawanna on Wednesday night at JJ Kelly Park.
"I think it's a good thing that's so quick, to try and put what happened on the weekend behind us and move - but learn from it as well," Allport said. "It's just an opportunity to learn from what we did and be better."
"But it's the same for the whole season. In the South Coast game [in round one], we ended up winning that 4-3, and now we've lost one 4-3, so obviously we've got some defensive issues that need addressing. But I think it just comes down to character and how well they're going to respond."
The Blueys head into Wednesday's match on the back of a 1-all draw with Bulli on Saturday. It was a result which impressed Allport.
"That's a massive result, Bulli are a very good side," he said.
"To get a draw with them is great for Tarrawanna. They will obviously take a lot of confidence out of that, and it just provides another challenge for us."
There will be three catch-up IPL games on Wednesday night for round three's washout of matches.
Bulli takes on Port Kembla at Balls Paddock while Wollongong Olympic faces Corrimal at Ian McLennan Park.
