AFL South Coast announced Lagana was the league's best and fairest via social media on Friday night with 13 points. Fellow Roo Kyle Veerhuis and Wollongong Bulldog Matthew Westaway were equal runners up.
Lagana, who arrived from the Queanbeyan Tigers at the start of this year, played a key role in helping Figtree clinch the minor premiership and book a spot in Saturday's grand final.
He represented the Kangaroos in eight games, leading the way at times through the midfield and also chipping in with 15 goals.
Lagana is the second successive Figtree player to claim the medal, after Jacob Hennessy created history by becoming the club's inaugural winner in 2019.
On Thursday night, Kiama's Aimee Barnard won the Maddy Collier Medal as the Women's Premier Division's best and fairest for 2020.
Barnard, who comes from a rugby league background with the Jamberoos Superoos in Group Seven, won the honour from Bomaderry's Bridget Kellett. The 28-year-old is the first person not named Sophie Phillips to claim the medal.
On Wednesday night, Ulladulla player Harrison Donoghue won the Tom Smith Medal as the Men's Division One's best and fairest.
The other senior medal winners announced last week were Northern Districts player Wesley Batty (Men's Division Two) and Shellharbour's Zoe Dignam (Women's Division One).
